The Parad Shivling (SKU: PASB-016) is a sacred idol crafted from solidified mercury (parad) combined with other metals, weighing approximately 58 gm. It measures approximately 2 cm in height, 2.5 cm in length, and 2 cm in width, making it a compact piece suitable for a personal puja altar or meditation space. The silver-coloured Shivling stands upright and is traditionally consecrated through Vedic rituals before installation. Parad is highly regarded in Ayurvedic and tantric traditions as a purified, alchemically transformed metal of great sanctity.
It is traditionally placed on a clean altar, offered water (abhishek), bilva leaves, and daily prayers. Devotees of Lord Shiva who wish to establish a home puja practice often choose a Parad Shivling as their focal point of worship.
The Shivling in the Vedic tradition is the primary symbol of Lord Shiva, associated with transcendence, dissolution, and regeneration. Parad, or solidified mercury, is described in classical texts including the Ras Ratna Samucchaya as among the most potent sacred materials. In astrological tradition, mercury (Budha) governs intellect and communication, while the Shivling as a whole is believed to invite Shiva's blessings for clarity, inner peace, and liberation from karmic cycles. Devotees are encouraged to have the item consecrated by a priest before beginning regular worship.
