About this Haridra Ganapati (TAHG-001)

Haridra Ganapati is a form of Lord Ganesha crafted entirely from turmeric root (haridra), a substance considered sacred in Hindu ritual for its purifying and auspicious qualities. The Mudgala Purana, a classical Sanskrit text devoted to Lord Ganesha, describes Haridra Ganapati as one of the thirty-two forms of Ganesha and assigns to him particular importance in removing obstacles related to prosperity and well-being. This small, naturally formed idol is traditionally used in special Ganesha pujas and is often kept in home shrines during auspicious beginnings.

  • Placed in home or office shrines for daily Ganesha worship
  • Used in special Haridra Ganapati puja rites for removing obstacles
  • Offered turmeric and yellow flowers as part of ritual worship
  • Kept during auspicious occasions such as new ventures or festivals

Astrological significance

In the Vedic tradition, Lord Ganesha is the deity of beginnings and the remover of obstacles (Vighnaharta). Haridra Ganapati, formed from turmeric, is associated with Jupiter's energy in classical astrology, as turmeric is considered a Jupiterian substance. This form is traditionally worshipped by those seeking to overcome challenges in endeavours related to knowledge, career, or family prosperity. Devotees believe that sincere worship of this form can invoke Ganesha's blessings at the outset of any important undertaking.
