Maa Siddhidatri: the ninth form of Durga
Siddhidatri is "the giver of siddhis" — the spiritual accomplishments the texts list as eight, from anima, becoming as small as an atom, to vashitva, mastery. She is seated on a lotus, sometimes on a lion, four-armed, holding a discus, conch, mace and lotus. As the last form she completes the nine: every quality worshipped over the preceding days is gathered into her.
The story of Maa Siddhidatri
In the popular account, Shiva himself worshipped the Goddess as Siddhidatri and received the siddhis through her grace — and half of his body became hers, which is why he is known as Ardhanarishvara, half male and half female. She is worshipped by gods, sages, siddhas and even asuras, as the dhyana verse says. Her day closes Navratri with a prayer for completeness.
Mantra and dhyana
ॐ देवी सिद्धिदात्र्यै नमः॥
सिद्धगन्धर्वयक्षाद्यैरसुरैरमरैरपि। सेव्यमाना सदा भूयात् सिद्धिदा सिद्धिदायिनी॥
The dhyana verse describes her ever served by siddhas, gandharvas, yakshas, asuras and gods alike, and asks the bestower of siddhis to grant them. Chant the short mantra 108 times before the havan.

- Close with the aarti and the visarjan of the kalash.

Monday or Tuesday? And when to break the fast
Navami begins at 10:53 AM on Monday, the same morning as Durga Ashtami. North Indian panchangs take the Navami that is joined to Ashtami, so they keep Maha Navami on Monday, 19 October. Families who go by the sunrise tithi keep it on Tuesday, 20 October, when Navami holds the sunrise and lasts until 12:51 PM — the havan and Kanya Pujan then belong to Tuesday morning.
