After the Usha Arghya the vratti breaks the fast, traditionally with a little raw milk or water and a piece of ginger or thekua from the prasad. Elders of the family touch the vratti's feet and receive blessings, and the prasad from the soop is shared with everyone at the ghat, whether or not they kept the fast. A light meal follows at home.
