Jupiter in Leo: what changes
Jupiter has been in Cancer, its sign of exaltation, since June. Moving into Leo it goes from its strongest sign to the sign of a friend: Leo is ruled by the Sun, and the Sun and Jupiter are natural friends. Jupiter here is dignified rather than exalted. It favours leadership, public responsibility, children, teaching and matters of the heart, and it asks that authority be used generously.
From Leo, Jupiter casts its full aspects on the 5th, 7th and 9th signs from itself: Sagittarius, Aquarius and Aries. People with the Moon or lagna in those signs feel its support even though Jupiter is not in their sign.
Why this transit is short: Jupiter’s atichari movement
Jupiter normally spends about a year in each sign. In 2025–27 it moves faster than usual, the pattern jyotish calls atichari: it reaches a sign early, then falls back into the previous one while retrograde. For Leo that means two visits. The first runs from 31 October 2026 to 25 January 2027. After a spell back in Cancer, where it turns direct on 13 April 2027, the second visit runs from 26 June 2027 to 26 November 2027.
The practical point is simple: any article that promises “one year of Jupiter in Leo from October” has the dates wrong. Results that belong to Jupiter in Leo start now, pause from late January, and resume in the summer of 2027.
